The pandemic has exposed a disturbing increase in discrimination and hate crimes targeting Asian women—a complex issue deeply rooted in long-standing religious, political, and cultural biases against them. My personal encounters with prejudice in Europe have motivated my investigation into the origins of fetishes about Asian women. This journey led to my research paper, 'A Study on the Causes that Led to the Fetishization of Asian Women.' In this study, I explored how cultural clashes, economic disparities, and religious beliefs contribute to harmful stereotypes and prejudices against Asian women. To address these issues, I initiated the 'Ethno Eye Clinic' campaign, which aims to eliminate harmful stereotypes that fuel the fetishization of Asian women. Ethno Eye Clinic represents the campaign's mission to 'treat and correct' these biases, healing their prejudices. Through my journey, I've learned the importance of the ability to identify meaningful projects and applying the inspiration drawn from social issues and personal experiences to design. I have come to realize the importance of multidisciplinary research and deeper background knowledge than I initially expected, as well as the significance of the evolution process of ideas and visual expressions. This experience has shown me that project execution requires skills beyond graphic design, emphasizing the value of a multi-dimensional approach. This understanding has profoundly influenced my perspective and approach to project work, inspiring me to pursue a more comprehensive and proactive role in the design field. Therefore, I've come to realize the need for greater creativity and expansion in communication methods.
