Moment Saver is an interactive photo booth that upcycles old smartphones into emotional recording devices. As users face the screen, expressive eyes respond to their emotions, guiding them to capture a moment. Beyond photography, it creates a poetic interaction between space, people, and time—reviving discarded devices with new life and meaning, blending sustainability with the beauty of memory.
모멘트 세이버는 ‘오래된 스마트폰’을 감성적인 기록 장치로 재탄생시킨 인터랙티브 포토부스입니다. 사용자는 화면 속 시선을 마주하며, 감정에 반응하는 눈의 표정을 통해 촬영이 유도됩니다. 이는 단순한 사진 촬영을 넘어, 공간과 사람, 순간을 연결하는 감성적 인터랙션을 제공합니다. 버려지는 기기에 새로운 생명을 부여함으로써, 지속가능성과 추억의 가치를 함께 담아냈습니다.
Background
Smartphones are often discarded due to "aesthetic fatigue" rather than functional failure, resulting in a massive "technological surplus." While these capable "sleeping devices" gather dust, the culture of recording has evolved; for Generation Z, photography is a part of the "Experience Economy", prioritizing emotional vibes over mere utility. However, current photo booths remain static and unidirectional, failing to satisfy the user's desire for interactive engagement. Moment Saver bridges this gap by redefining upcycling as a creative act. By transforming discarded devices into an emotion-responsive installation, the project turns a passive recording process into a two-way dialogue, restoring both the functional and experiential value of forgotten technology.
스마트폰은 기능 고장이 아닌 '심미적 피로'로 인해 버려지는 경우가 많으며, 이는 막대한 '기술적 잉여'를 초래합니다. 이러한 고성능의 '잠자는 기기'들이 먼지만 쌓여가는 동안, 기록의 문화는 진화했습니다.
